On June 1, foundation work began with pile driving for Phase 1 of the Pilgrim-Triton Master Plan. Pile driving involves a pile driving rig to drive, or effectively hammer, piles into soil to overcome settlement and support the subsequent slab foundations that are placed on grade for the buildings and parking structure. To limit the duration of pile driving, two pile driving rigs have been employed to expedite the process.
All pile work will be conducted within the designated construction hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pile driving activities are scheduled to be complete by July 1. We thank you for your patience while crews work to complete this phase of construction as quickly as possible.
Construction framing is anticipated to begin in August 2011 once foundations have been placed. The noise generated by the construction activities that follow piles will be imperceptible by comparison.
On Monday, May 9 crews began work on Phase 1 of the Pilgrim-Triton Master Plan. Phase 1 includes the demolition of 92,000 square feet of existing industrial office space and the new construction of 300 for-rent apartment homes in a mixed-use development that will include a centralized park, approximately 17,000 square feet of ground floor commercial, and a 650 space parking garage.
Phase 1 is currently the only approved phase moving forward with construction. Construction activities related to Phase 1 include: installing utilities, pile driving, site grading, pouring foundations, framing, and landscaping.
Construction hours are scheduled from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. There will be no scheduled work on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.
